Abstract. This study investigates the influence of corner column positioning on the dynamic response of a timber frame structure through finite element numerical modeling. The analyzed structural model has plan dimensions of 2960 × 2960 mm and a height of 2800 mm. The structure is composed of solid softwood members with a cross-section of 90 × 180 mm. The parametric analysis considers the progressive inward displacement of the corner columns and its influence on the structural response. The investigation focuses on the variation of natural frequencies, mode shapes, internal force distribution, and global dynamic behavior for different geometric configurations. Particular attention is given to the influence of structural eccentricities on stiffness distribution and modal response. The numerical results indicate that modifications in column positioning affect the spatial stiffness and torsional behavior of the structural system.
