Abstract. Organisations represent a complex system composed of interconnected processes. Every action that is taken at a certain organisational level has an impact on the subsequent ones, which may or may not be part of the same process. To understand the operational system that lies beyond the face of the organisation, it is necessary to develop a proper understanding of the processes that make everything run smoothly. Upon observing a medium-sized road freight transport organisation, it has been noted that there are several processes that are carried out in order to allow the company to provide the service. Therefore, a thorough analysis of the organisation and the mechanisms through which it functions is deeply needed. The aim of this paper is to identify and analyse the core, support and management processes within a medium-sized road freight transport organisation, to showcase the complexity of the organisation and the necessity of quality management.
Keywords: business process management, process analysis, process-based approach, road freight transport, quality management.
